I’m incredibly fortunate to be in a career that I’m passionate about, more than anything. It’s amazing to wake up and go to work in theatre, because the effect it has on people is so profound, so human, so vulnerability-exploring, and that is a really cool thing. Theatre impacts people in a way that few things we still participate in as a culture do, on a communal level, on a social and group level, and I love that. I enjoy working with my hands, problem solving, creating images and beautiful visuals and all that, but deep down it’s really the way it makes people feel that gets me most. That magical moment when the Phantom of the Opera reveals his face and the light goes cool blue and you can just feel the air get sucked out of the room - moments like that, are exactly why I love my job so much.
